What else?

Woke up late, no coffee, feeling terrible, just as predicted.

Finished Kite Runner:

I apologize for the bad picture. I have a headache and it's been a long day.

It was interesting while it lasted, but I probably won’t read it again.  Wouldn’t mind finding out more about the history of the Middle East and all the conflicts going on right now… I really haven’t been keeping up with International news, unless Asian pop culture counts.

Oh, Kite Runner was adapted into a movie

Today was good, so tomorrow will be bad, and the day will be good, and the day after that will be bad… It’s always relative to the day before, so today might have felt like a bad day, if yesterday had felt like a good one.  You get what I mean?

Went and bought myself a mouse to play Spiral Knights (forever known as SK).  Plugged it in, started using it, and realized immediately that I haven’t been living for the past 2 years that I didn’t use a mouse with my laptop. Life changing moment.

life changer.

So because I now own a working mouse, I played computer games instead of read the books that I found this weekend.  Also listened to the Foster the People album about 10 times while I chopped jellies in SK.

This weekend has really tired me out.  Even my mom noticed how withdrawn and sad I seem today.

Despite my moodiness, Antomy Ng still made me laugh with his cringe worthy lameness:

Antomy Ng says:
  get a mouse, man
  we'wll go kill jelly
Louisa says:
  fffffffff cannot
Antomy Ng says:
  why cannot get mouse?
Louisa says:
hm. guess i could go find a cheap one somewhere
Antomy Ng says:
  lawl
pet store
  LOOOL

Also check out the Hello Kitty onesie!  I need to get me one of those.

This is one of the reasons I feel lucky:

My beloved little brother’s Chinese essay.  Please disregard the horrid grammatical errors.

Le Love

Le Love, a blog “dedicated to love. the good, the bad and the unknown.”  They’ve got pretty pictures, sappy love stories, heart breaking stories, inspirational tales of love.

So this book, Catfish and Mandala….

Almost done.  I get the catfish part, because, according to the author, Vietnamese people eat a lot of catfish cooked in claypots with fishsauce, and the main character, An, enjoys it greatly.  Apparently, catfish also live in ponds that are used as latrines; there are bridges with holes resembling a Port-A-Potty, except the individual does his business into the pond.  These catfish in the pond gather under the person using the “washroom”, and are thus able to obtain a very nutritious meal…

An has been running away from all his (family) problems so far, but I think he’ll deal with them soon, since the book is ending in less than 100 pages.  Wish I could just run away to my homeland and bike around all day and eat chocolate and meet interesting strangers.

On the other hand, work is helping me truly appreciate the many other aspects of my life.

My old blog expired, and I need a place to vent my boredom.

I'm one month into my new job, and I am surprised to say that I'm not hating it. Hearing the phone ring makes me cringe sometimes.  Today, five different customers called at the same time, and the phone was literally ringing off the hook.  It felt like the phone was screaming at us (us = me, the other ISR, and the receptionist).

"FIND ME THIS ITEM. WE NEED IT NOW. I CAN'T WAIT A WEEK."

I'm working on it. Don't bite my head off through the telephone please.

On the other hand, I finished Catch-22.  I loved it from the 1st chapter when the soldier wrapped from head to toe in bandages died, and Yossarian and Dunbar vehemently accused the nurse of killing him. It was a 10/10 from the beginning.

Next up... Mandala and Catfish, and my Sept. 2011 issue of NYLON.
