Went to Future Shop to replace my broken Nikon COOLPIX S9 a new camera. Samsung ST50 in Black. 12.2 Megapixels, which doubles what I previously used (COOLPIX S9: 6.1 Megapixels). Took some test shots with it, and it’s not too bad (too lazy to upload pictures). Can’t wait to bring it out.

Today was a good day.

My phone goes crazy at my parents’ restaurant and can’t send texts, but that’s okay, ‘cause after talking on the phone with a Rogers AT&T rep. for about 30 min., we fix the problem.
the problem: kept on getting a “Please set SMS Center” error, but when i tried to set it on the N706i, i got a “This function is not compatible with UIM”.
the solution: switched the SIM card back to my old (very old) Samsung, and set the SMS center there, then switched the SIM card back to the N706i.
felt a great sense of achievement. thanks, Rogers customer service.

afterwards, i went to the doctor to inquire about my swollen eyes. pain in the right eye woke me up this morning. apparently, i might have a chalazion.
well… it doesn’t look that bad… can’t actually tell i have anything. doctor’s advice: warm compress about 6 times a day and it should go away on its own.

then, work. even though i’m still slower, SK makes it to 1250. gj, im happy for you. :)

get home, and i hear the funniest story since… well not that long ago. probably since HK. i laugh for about 5 minutes over the fact that the world is a small small place. ask me about the story; i’ll be glad to tell. ;)

S and i went for 雞蛋仔 and waffles with butter and sugar in it near 尖沙咀站 (exit B, walk along Nathan Road). the best i’ve ever had!!!! even 陳豪 has been here. the store owners took a picture with him and taped it to the store front among other pictures of movie stars who ate there before.

there were people lining up in front of the store, which was sorta hidden away:

S and i also went to the Charlie Brown café!

the entrance is street level, but the actual cafe is on the 2nd floor.  inside, there were lots of charlie brown related decorations, such as statues and paintings.

snoopy and woodstock

the food was decorated with a charlie brown theme too.

went to 灣仔 just to go to 金鳳 (exit A3 at 灣仔站, walk along Johnston Road until Spring Garden Lane… i think LOL) my cousin recommended it to me for their pineapple buns + butter, egg tarts, and milk teas.
金鳳
it was so full in there that i had to share a table with an older lady listening to an iPod and another young man, who wolfed down his meal.  i ordered all of my cousin’s recommendations:

famous milk tea, pineapple bun, eggtarts
notice that the cold milk tea has no ice. they make the milk tea and keep it in a cooler. i was amazed by this, but that just shows how little i go out… best pineapple bun i ever had.

at 大澳, my aunt’s friend brought me to eat some freshly made 茶果 and mochi. i adore these, even when not freshly made.  fresh ones are heavenly:

visited the place my dad worked at for about 30 years, 華豐.  sells bbq pork, chickens, ducks, sausages, cooked meats in general…

got free food… felt so bad because they wouldn’t have recognized me and my cousin if it wasn’t for my dad who ORDERED me to greet his old buddies there:

the night before i came back to Vancouver, i went to 山頂 (the top of the highest mountain in Hong Kong) to see the night view with my cousin. it was a really touristy thing to do, but yeah. can’t go to HK without seeing it! according to my cousin (and also the this site), the view from that mountain is why HK is called “亞洲之珠”.
the good things: really pretty, quiet (compared to the rest of HK)
the bad things: didn’t have my camera, bugs attaching to clothing, tourists everywhere (lots of “ghost mans”)

we also went to 蘭桂坊… for dinner and Starbucks afterwards for cheesecake (blueberries were okay. the cake was stale. the icing was very hard) and fraps (Java Chip Frap: too watery; Dark Berry Mocha Frap: tasted weird and left strange aftertaste according to my cousins).  Vancouver Starbucks is 10 times better. :)

on the plane… sat beside a 叉佬, who kept hacking and sniffling… i’m sure he only had a cold or maybe lung problems or w/e, but i quickly pulled on a face mask just to be safe.  i think the people around me noticed too and asked the flight attendants for air masks.  luckily he didn’t smell bad.

more pictures from my cousin’s camera and from before my camera failed…

my favourite shopping spots were at 旺角 and 沙田. there was a snoopy land at 沙田!

went to Tai O and Dai Yu Shan with my aunt's friend... almost got baked by the sun, but it was really pretty there. more details + pictures when i get back.

shopped a whole bunch more. shoes, bag, shirts, jeans. my aunt got me a Anna Sui wallet... :O pictures later....

went to a comic + toys place with S. comic stores there had comics stacked like hills, or the walls were covered in shelves all stuffed with comics, and some of the shelves were slidable!!!!! toys everywhere...

also, kept hearing this song by Jason Chan everywhere. literally EVERYWHERE. 陳柏宇 - I Will Be Loving You. first heard it on the train, and i started wondering who sang it, cause it sounds pretty nice. then i heard it in a random clothing store, and i was even going to ask the sales people about it, but didn't because S made it seem like i'd look like a weirdo. then finally saw it in a CD store. it's a really good song!

got ID checked today just because i looked at a cop with his dog for a second too long. HK cops... so silly and suspicious... go do something useful :P

today... will go find good eggtarts.. lol.
i dont remember which day is which anymore...

cellphone:
it works, but keeps on disconnecting from HK networks. supposed to work smoother in Canada... i sure hope so, cause i won't be able to go back to "seen dat" and ask the cute guy (cuter than J?! :O) who sold me the phone for help.

parks:
went to Nan Lian Garden in Kowloon. it's huge there! pictures when i get back...
went to Ocean Park with S and his family members... awkward!!! his cousins are cool tho. the little one kept on clinging to me, and the older ones were both really funny and nice. the pandas were adorable. best ride was the pirate ship i think. we had a screaming contest on it. LOL. thanks to S's aunt for treating me to the Ocean Park tickets! pix available on facebook.

day11 (may 10):
went for thai food! i had a whole coconut, full of yummy refreshing coconut juice and lots of coconut meat. good for digestion, right G? ;) pix later.

day12 (may11):
bought an adidas jacket (black with white stripes) at a huge sale today for $275HKD (about $40 CDN). good deal? there were also badly designed converses, plain adidas skater shoes, cheap lacostes, and other ugly brands.
also went to Wong Dai Seen (LOL). it was like walking into a cloud of smoke, cause everyone there's burning incense and "bai sun".

cameras:
i killed both my Nikkon and my cousin's Lumix. sorry, cousin.
more shopping @mongkok. everything's so cheap!!! it was great therapy after getting my BIOL201 mark. bought lots and lots of socks. yes. SOCKS. might buy more if i have money left.

my cousin's lending me her camera, so now i can take pix again. the past few days with no camera felt disappointing... lol. i wanted to take pix of so many things! like that durian pancake dessert and the chocolate "lor mai chi" and the stalls at mong kok (ie, fa yuen guy and lui yun guy).

phone shopping today (day07)!

oh, and WTF. im still dreaming about J. this time, he died... :(
