a samurai, a killer, and a girl decide to travel together to find the girl’s “sunflower samurai”… they travel around old japan, meet the sunflower guy, almost get killed, and then… nothing.

do not get what this was about. Confused most of the time (probably because i kept getting distracted). why’d they have to split in the end? why’d the two guys stick with the girl in the beginning anyways? how is it possible that they dont die after getting shot at by a gun/stabbed in the gut twice? what was the deal with the whole zombie episode? WHY IS THIS ANIME SO POPULAR?
There were some funny parts i guess (baseball, graffiti), but… the plot was sort of very confusing. uh… yeah. guess im not into the whole fighting with swords thing.
uh… what should i watch next? lol… im so bored…

So, after finishing Initial D, i decided to watch Special A…

This anime was only 24 episodes, so it wasnt too hard to finish. And of course, i have the bad habit of skipping “boring” parts, ie lovey dovey scenes where boy and girl stare into each other’s eyes.
S.A. reminded me of Ouran High School Host Club, which i watched a few years ago. Maybe it was the Japanese school uniforms, or the really generic Japanese male character hairstyles. Or maybe it was because it was about rich high school kids. A lot of Japanese manga/anime have a poor/middle class main character who somehow infiltrates upper class society, ie Hana Yori Dango, Ouran High School Host Club, Mei Chan no Shitsuji… It gets pretty dam repetitive, but yet i still watch it…
Then, i spent the rest of my afternoon downloading the OST for Boys Before Flowers and looking up SS501 mvs. SS501 members look like girls.
The ‘guy’, Kim Hyun Joong, furthest on the right was in Boys Before Flowers, and played Hanazawa Rui’s character. He looked a lot better after he cut his hair short (meaning he actually looked like a guy). I love his solo version of SS501’s 내 머리가 나빠서 (Because Im Stupid). Ask me to send it if you’re interested. I don’t think i’ll ever get back into korean dramas, but their music isnt too bad! : )

Instead of going outside to enjoy the beautiful Vancouver weather, I finished all the Initial D manga and anime, ie, Initial D, Initial D Stage 2, Initial D Stage 3 Movie, Initial D Stage 4, 537 Chapters…
The Storyline: Takumi Fujiwara goes around Japan kicking ass on downhill street races with his AE86. He’s a miracle driver who always wins. ALWAYS. he was about to lose a race once, and his opponent started puking and had to pull over.
Pros: There are really nice drawings of Japanese scenery. It’s not only entertaining, there are lots of details about cars and engines and tires, so it’s somewhat educational. Maybe now i’ll be a better driver…
Cons: Takumi always wins with his crappy AE86. RIGGED MUCH?! The drawings of the humans aren’t too attractive.
Favourite Parts: Bunta (Takumi’s dad) is hilarious.
Now, I want to learn how to drive manual and get a lancer. LOL.
Got my wisdom teeth pulled out. I went into the dentist’s office, thinking “w/e, it’s just wisdom teeth”.
Then, the dentist comes in, pulls out his needles and mirrors and sharp pointy things. Just as he injects the anesthetics, i start sweating and i can barely breathe…
“if you feel any pain, PAIN and not pressure, tell me,” says the dentist.
“OUCH,” i scream. Another shot of anesthetics.
I feel like my feet are soaked in a tub of water. My hands are shaking. And then it’s over.
Thanks, Dr. Hui at First Avenue Dental Group. $200.10 for taking out my remaining 2 wisdom teeth. That’s with insurance coverage… Dentists sure make a lot of money. Maybe I should consider going into dentistry…

mango pudding!!!!!!! what’s the trick to prevent mangoes from browning….?
more mango, in cake form. the syrup was sorta messy, but it tasted good. we had a hard time splitting this between ~30 people though. the pieces were very randomly shaped, and size of a piece could range from eaten in less than a bite to eaten in maybe 3 bites… lol. cutting cake is not as easy as it seems!!!!!!!!
