LE MARCHE ST GEORGE

At Le Marché St. George, one of my favourite nooks in Vancouver, with a good friend, enjoying the sunshine this weekend before heading off to the Eastside Flea Market. I got a Rose Mocha and a French onion soup, and the croissant is C’s. I can’t wait to come back, every single time. They pay attention to all the details! The only thing we didn’t do was bike; it would’ve been a complete Vancouver-style weekend.

Looked back on some old photographs, which brought back some good and bad memories. I’ve been thinking about what I’ve learned since (love, work, family), and when the switch was flipped from “child” to “adult”. The past was fun, but I’m more excited to keep moving forward.
You might not realize how much you love someone until:

-you’re doing something that causes anxiety, because you want to help them out. B asked me to be her bridesmaid a year ago, and I was very against these idea. I don’t have the type of energy to do these things! I think it’s one of the reasons I’ve been so drained… Just the thought of being a bridesmaid stresses me out.

-you’re waking up every hour to make sure your alarm hadn’t gone off yet. Makeup and hair at 4AM. Sharp.

-the tears start welling up in your eyes. B walked down the aisle, and was already tearing up. D was 2 minutes into her speech, and I started tearing up.

-you’re pacing around the room to stay awake. I tried tea, sugar, walking around in circles. Would I would do this for H? I wouldn’t be able to sleep anyways.

-somebody else points it out. T said to H: She really loves you, you know?

It couldn’t have turned out better. Weather, timing, food:

We were at Kirin at Starlight Casino, and it was just about the best Chinese food I’ve ever had (maybe it was the wine too). Above is the abalone we sampled that night, and it tasted as good as it looked. Just the right amount of savouriness, perfect chewy texture. I don’t know about other Kirin’s, but this one was impressive.

Now I know abalone is not the most ethical food to have… But it’s not like we have it everyday and it is a Chinese tradition. It’s not fair to ask us to give us our cultural traditions if others can keep theirs despite endangering the lives of animals or even the environment.

Tonight was a good night. Above & Beyond. Andrew Rayel. 3Lau.

Music is best enjoyed when shared. There were so many bodies at BC Place tonight for Contact 2015. I think it was more packed than last year!
