Ending this long weekend with a coffee at Revolver:

revolver

Beautiful coffee shop with plenty of space to read and work, chat and catch up. Their large selection of coffees and espressos satisfies every coffee drinker. The baristas really know their stuff! I was pretty intimidated by the choice, so I asked for help to choose from their extensive list of beans for my macchiato. Although I can’t remember which roast it was, except that it had dark chocolate and berry notes, I think it might’ve been one of my favorites.

R and B were there, doing their work, so I had time to finish No Is Not Enough by Naomi Klein. Good ideas about the Trump situation down south.

Back tracking one day, MANNA had their wedding out at Westwood:

It’s peaceful, out of the way from traffic. There were quite a few friends that I hadn’t seen in a while, it really is too bad that we only catch up at weddings.

Backing up more, H and I were at S's house for board games and dinner.

Why don’t I see these people more often? Coffee date at Revolver next week, friends?
Started reading this new gem at The Federal Store:

The cafĂ© is a new one that was opened very recently (maybe 2 or 3 weeks ago). The owners apparently fixed up the place all on their lonesome, and it looks great. Super clean lighting with a nice selection of munchies that you’d find at a general store. Great coffee (beans from Bows & Arrows) that I would come back for, especially as it’s along a very popular bike route at 10th and Quebec.

This Changes Everything. It’s been a minute since I’ve read a book that has this type of information, so progress is slow and not very steady. I should really prioritize reading (ugly people need to read more, or so I’ve heard). A very friendly patron at the shop mentioned that Naomi Klein has another book about branding and logos… I’ll have to check it out after this.
49th Parallel has these scrumptious Halloween Special donuts, stuffed with pumpkin puree, with a pumpkin glaze and chocolate icing. The stem… IS AN ALMOND!!!! Creativity a its best. Coffee, as always, was on par. Might not be too late yet to get one today.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN.

Still working on this same book, which is really making me doubt my choices and decisions.

Shanghai food, and also, national dessert day celebration.

It was salty, but otherwise not bad. Best part was the free xiao long bao that comes with any orders over $40.00USD.

Farmer’s Market was canceled this week due to above mentioned storm. The rest of this weekend will be me staring out my window at the wind blowing apart the trees, while drinking coffee and reading. I told myself I wouldn’t waste money on buying books anymore, but it was so hard to resist! Picked up Thinking, Fast and Slow by Daniel Kahneman:

Would you put placenta on your face? Koreans are #1 at skincare. Berrisom Raccoon Mask.

Nothing too special about it, another sheet mask. I got this for Christmas. Needed extra moisture this weekend, so I slapped this on after a night of food and drinks at my house, where we gabbed about The Lathe of Heaven (strange book, and I think that after reading this book, I now understand that the world will always be in conflict because new problems will always arise to take the place of the resolved ones) and work (unforeseen changes). I don’t know about the others, but I feel like I’m always on edge now. Who’s to say I’ll still have a job in another year? Where’s the job security in this world?!?! H is right though – things happen for a reason and if I’m not meant to be here, it’s because there’s somewhere else I should be.
