Today was the 3rd week of working at the Vancouver Farmers Market. We got some good swag:

I’ve had a pizza craving for a few days:
IMG_20160517_202618

Still got the craving because frozen pizzas just don’t do the job. The lettuce was fresh picked from my dad’s garden and we mixed it up with the potato salad (from… Costco?).

Good thing I’ve been biking a ton. Today was super productive – work, bike, yoga, washed my Veloster and a boat (my mom has a Camry). Where’s a good place to take my car to get it detailed?

STARRRRVING when I got home. It’s time to start planning Iceland… but maybe after Rachel Nguyen’s vlogs from last Christmas:

She’s a pretty cool girl from LA who worked very hard to get where she is now. Some people don't actually work - they just depend on the system to take them where they want to go. And parents of course.

Did I mention what happened on Sunday at Lansdown?

We locked our bikes against a fence that we shouldn't have (I do admit we were wrong there), and the security guards locked them up with their own lock. We called them using the phone number that was on the notice they left behind. One shorter fellow in a regular grey shirt and a taller fellow in a Garda security uniform came storming out, and the shorter fellow started accusing us of breaking the fence! He was like a chihuahua, barking loudly, but really no bite (his arguments were quite illogical). Fence was already broken before we got there, they wouldn't have any proof to show that we did, so they can't hold us responsible for the charges. Anyways, long story short, the short one admitted he knew that we didn't break the fence, but wanted to just scare us and teach us a lesson, so that we wouldn't park our bikes illegally any more. His name is Nahid Islam, and he was extremely rude - he even said that if we were older, he would've just let us off, but because we're younger and we could afford "nice" bikes, we should've known better and he wanted to send us a strong message.

They should put up a sign to make it official.

I always wonder how people get hired for what they're doing... Garda World, why you hire people like this to perpetuate stereotypes about security guards?
This week was rather busy again…

Monday – Scout volunteer event at Ceili’s with H.
Tuesday – Victoria Sushi with a couple of Point Grey coworkers.
Wednesday – This happened:

Went to G-Men with R. I LOVE THIS NOODLE. The soup is thick and creamy. The meat and the noodles are cooked just right. The egg is the best part, yolk is perfect. I think this came to $15.00 each. Don’t bother with fried chicken next time.

Thursday – Yoga
Friday – Made some dumplings with P and H.
Today – Work at the Vancouver Farmer’s Market, bought some Pork & Apple sausage from Stapleton Sausage. Good brunch materials. 33 Acres Brewing was there today, being all L33T with the B33R. #nerd.
@33acresbrewing was @vanmarkets today. (at Trout Lake Farmers Market)

It's actually pretty hard to do some of the tasks that are required for setting up the market. I'm small and not used to the manual labor. Carrying those barricades are THE WORST. Usually when I help out at HSCPC events, I wouldn't touch that stuff and somebody (usually a big buff guy who wants to go into policing) would step up. If you see me there next time, please take pity and help me out.

Tomorrow will be the first day I get to relax a bit, although things likely won’t slow down until the end of June.

Another summery song by R3HAB:

You were my conductor of energy, director of fantasy…
What better way to destress than drink coffee and read old journal entries?

So sleepy. I need a break. Iceland soon. Finished the Census survey in 20 minutes. If the down payment is due in July or August, a 100lb load would be taken off my little shoulders. That is all for today.

...ate at Biercraft on CommercialBiercraft, where they really do have the best mussels for such a great price (under $20 for a full pound), and such flavor. We got the one with the chorizo, and the Elderflower margarita and Blood Orange beer. The margarita reminded me of the ones at Las  Margaritas, but in a smaller and safer portion. H thought one of the servers was cute, and I admit she was actually very nice and not all looks.

-went to to A’s wedding, where she choreographed a dance with D, based on a mix of Ed Sheeran, Grease, and others. Even though it smelled worse than Richmond, it was an adorable little wedding out in BFN (aka butt fuck nowhere) with Mt Cheam in the background:

Cash Cash coming out with all the hits… Song of Summer2016?

One two three
I been running from the pain
Trying not to feel the same
But it's a shame that we're sinking
See my confidence is shaking
And my heart is feeling vacant
So you try to fill it in

You say "I can fix the broken in your heart
You're worth saving darling"

But I don't know why you're shooting in the dark
I got faith in nothing

But love, pray for me
I never had somebody
So I don't know how to love
Pray for me
I know I need somebody
So I can learn how to love

I know it's been a while
Cause my memory's on trial
For the way I used to be
My head is running miles
Round in circles and I try
To find the little light in me

You say "I can fix the broken in your heart
You're worth saving darling"
But I don't know why you're shooting in the dark
I got faith in nothing

But love, pray for me
I never had somebody
So I don't know how to love
Pray for me
I know I need somebody
So I can learn how to love

I know I need somebody
I know I need somebody
I know I need somebody
So I can learn how to love
How to love
How to love
So I can learn how to love
How to love
How to love
How to love
Love, love, love, love, love, love, oh
I know I need somebody
I know I need somebody
I know I need somebody
So I can learn how to love
(Need somebody now
How to love, love
How to love, love)

Too much fun this weekend.

Friday: A’s bachelorette party, where we walked between The Bourbon and the Charles Bar a few times. The Bourbon was horrid. I never want to go back. Charles Bar was pretty cool, we had a good time. Music is decent, with a good mix from new music (Justin Bieber included), and average priced alcohol ($60 including tip for 9 shots of tequila). H came to pick me up (thanks).

Saturday: Shopping, dim sum, and stomach feeling uncomfortable from the alcohol. I decided to fix it with more alcohol at C’s wine and mussel’s night. THIS WAS GREAT.So great that I didn’t have time to take pictures. But just trust me, it was great.

Sunday: Sleep in (just barely – who has time to sleep past 6:30AM?), and went to yoga. Ended the weekend with the 1st BBQ of 2016 in  Port Moody, where I fed the mosquitoes, while H fed the rest of us. Turkey smokies from Costco, a pack for under $15, onions, ketchup, Sriracha:
